JUNE 5-7, 2026
9:00 AM - 5:00 PM SATURDAY & SUNDAY
1:00-6:00 PM SUNDAY
Los Angeles improv instructor and performer Mary Anthony is teaming up again with beloved Factory teacher and veteran professional actor Jonathan Lipnicki to deliver a LA Scene Study & Improv Mini Camp for young performers aged 10-17, live and in person at The Actor Factory June 5-7.
Mary Anthony is a regular teacher and performer at the acclaimed UCB Los Angeles. Before moving to Los Angeles, Mary taught Young Performers at The Actor Factory after earning her degree in Acting from OU. Once she relocated to LA, she started studying at Upright Citizens Brigade and Playhouse West. She performs regularly on the UCB house Harold team, LEROY. Additionally, her all female indie team, FASHION SHOW AT LUNCH, has hosted shows at UCB and performed at San Francisco Sketch Fest and the LA Indie Improv Festival. She currently writes for the upcoming AppleTV series "LUCKY", starring Ana Taylor Joy, premiering July 15.
Her indie team SWIMMING LESSONS has performed at the Del Close Marathon (NYC) and the LA Indie Improv Festival and can be seen hosting their show COMMUNITY POOL at the Clubhouse Mainstage and UCB's inner sanctum stage. She's also been featured on the podcasts "The Meat", and "Extra,Extra". Students love her approach to teaching and her kind, thoughtful and hilarious insight into working with students of all ages.
Critics Choice Award-winner Jonathan Lipnicki has been acting nearly all his life, starting as a young child in Los Angeles. He earned early fame and recognition for starring in such films as JERRY MAGUIRE, STUART LITTLE, LIKE MIKE and THE LITTLE VAMPIRE but works regularly in film and television, recently as a regular on the TBS series THE JOE SCHMO SHOW and in the current Amazon Prime top pick COTTONMOUTH. He is appearing soon in an upcoming film for A24, and he continues to produce films as a partner in the production company Buffalo 8. He regularly teaches the Pro Track adult class On-Camera Scene Study at The Actor Factory.
Anthony will spend all day on Friday with the students, working them through a day of UCB-style improv. From short-form games to long-form Harolds, Mary will run them through the rigors of thinking on their feet, trusting instincts, and working with a team. Improvisation builds confidence, creates bonds with others, and sharpens acting skills, particularly on camera. Plus, the day will be hilarious.
On Saturday, Lipnicki will work with students on scripted scene work, giving them a teen version of the popular class he gives adults. He will push them in character study, help them develop practices to create believable performances and three-dimensional characters, living truthfully in the moments and not rely on "showing".
On Sunday, the two gifted teachers will work with the kids to develop a 1-hour showcase performance for parents. They will fine tune, hone and then craft the show, using all elements used during the weekend.
Factory assistant and Young Performer instructor Kerynn Eckenrode will assist the weekend.
The camp is limited to only 12 participants aged 10-17. Cost for the camp includes all meals and snacks, plus 2 tickets to the showcase performance.
Grab your seat for $395.
