Oklahoma Casting Director and professional actor Chris Freihofer, Director and Founder of The Actor Factory, offers his popular 6-week class online.

 

The class is designed for both beginning and advanced actors to receive critique in their audition technique for film and television.  

 

Students will be emailed audition material to prepare during the week prior to class.  These scenes are taken from highly-rated network television series studio features.  The audition material will be accompanied by an assignment involving an area of focus for the audition.  Participants will be videotaped and evaluated during class time, with constructive criticism to improve the actor’s technique.  Each participant will be provided a video link of their class work each week, including his or her on-camera instruction and critique. 

 

Freihofer brings to the classroom the unique perspective of being on both sides of the audition camera in today's market, offering insight unrivaled in the region. Freihofer was recently named an Oklahoma Film ICON by the 2016 deadCenter Film Festival, is an active member of SAG-AFTRA, and is Oklahoma's only member of the Casting Society of America.

 

Acting credits include the TV series LONGMIRE, FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS, ARMY WIVES, PRISON BREAK and as lawyer Dan Wachsberger in the landmark series BREAKING BAD. Film credits include PARKLAND, LEAVES OF GRASS, EX-TERMINATORS and Oliver Stone’s W.

Casting credits include Paul Dano’s directorial debut WILDLIFE with Jake Gyllenhaal and Carey Mulligan, HELLRAISER: JUDGMENT, CHILDREN OF THE CORN: RUNAWAY, ROAD LESS TRAVELED, starring Lauren Alaina, The Cannes Film Festival Jury Award-winner AMERICAN HONEY with Shia Lebeouf, William H Macy’s RUDDERLESS, John Wells’ AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, Terrence Malick’s TO THE WONDER, as well as the films THE KILLER INSIDE ME, ELIZABETHTOWN and many, many more. Recent casting credits include SOUTHLAND with Bella Thorne, A24's MINARI, BODY BROKERS with Melissa Leo and the Netflix film FULL OUT 2.

 

"We change actors' approach to auditions, empowering them with trusting their instincts, being themselves, and never again fearing to make the "wrong choice" in their approach to the roles," he said.  "We also expose that most actors prepare incorrectly for the audition, and then provide a technique that will make auditioning so much more fun, less stressful and a lot more successful."

 

The class is open to beginning or advanced actors aged 16 and up.
