“It’s A Wonderful Life” Actress
Karolyn “Zuzu” Grimes
In celebration of the 70th Anniversary of the classic holiday film IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, The Actor Factory is bringing one of the film's surviving cast members to the studio to present two Factory Forums. Seating is limited to only 50 seats in each Forum.
Karolyn Grimes, veteran child actress of Hollywood's Golden Age, played the iconic youngest daughter Zuzu Bailey in the film, and will discuss her experiences of that and many other films in two very intimate, informal chats from 7:00-9:00 pm December 1 and 2 at The Actor Factory in Norman, OK.
Grimes worked with such Hollywood legends as Bing Crosby, Cary Grant, Fred Astaire, John Wayne, Fred MacMurray, Glenn Ford, Loretta Young and many, many more. But she is best known as little Zuzu in IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, playing Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed's youngest daughter. Home sick in bed after school, little Zuzu show's her daddy George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart) the flower she won that day, only to become upset when a couple petals fall from the flower. Later in the film, Grimes utters the now iconic line "Look, Daddy. Teacher says every time a bell rings and angel gets his wings."
She is one of only a very small number surviving members of this beloved film, and this Forum is an incredibly rare and unique experience.
In the Forum, Grimes will sit down for an intimate chat with Actor Factory Director and Founder Chris Freihofer (BREAKING BAD), who will ask her about her career as one of Hollywood's go-to child actresses. She will share her experiences on IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE, but also of her experiences in many other classic films, including another holiday gem, THE BISHOP'S WIFE, starring Cary Grant, David Niven and Loretta Young.
Grimes appeared in numerous films during the Golden Age, including the John Ford classic RIO GRANDE, starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. Her credits also include PARDON MY PAST with Fred MacMurray, SISTER KENNY with Rosalind Russell, BLUE SKIES with Bing Crosby and Fred Astaire, MOTHER WORE TIGHTS with Betty Grable, ALBUQUERQUE with Randolph Scott and Gabby Hayes and LUST FOR GOLD with Glenn Ford and Ida Lupino.
In addition to Freihofer's interview of Grimes, there will be plenty of time for Q&A from the audience.
Grimes will have IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE - themed holiday gifts available following the Forum, and will be on hand for autographs and pictures.
Seating is limited to only 50 people per Forum, open to anyone aged 12+. All seats are $40.
