Legendary acting teacher Sanford Meisner created this landmark approach to acting for students James Gandolfini, Jack Nicholson, Anthony Hopkins, Allison Janney, Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall and dozens more.
The heart of Meisner's technique is "living truthfully within imaginary circumstances," which invites actors to stop acting and react instinctively, while connecting with their material from moment-to-moment.
Learn the approach that inspired Academy Award winners, taught by actor and professor Kato Buss in Oklahoma’s only class offered to the public.
Kato Buss is an Assistant Professor of Theatre Arts and Head of the BFA Performance Program at the University of Central Oklahoma. Kato has over twenty years experience as an actor, director, playwright, and teacher and holds a PhD in Theatre, with an emphasis in Meisner. He encourages a student-centered approach to actor training, which enables acting students to push their own boundaries in a safe and supportive environment.
Open to beginning and advanced actors, age 16 and up.
