Mary Anthony is a regular performer with UCB in Los Angeles, whose alums include Kate McKinnon, Ellie Kemper, Aubrey Plaza, Donald Glover, Aziz Ansari, Adam McKay and Amy Poehler among many others. But before she moved there, she taught acting to Young Performers at The Actor Factory.

She will work with young actors to create and develop memorable comic characters to be used in sketch, short film, auditions and more.  By the end of the class, each student will have a “character reel” they can pull from regularly.

Each week, Anthony will warm up the class and get the creative juices flowing with some UCB-style improve. Then she will work individually with each actor in developing characters in improve scenes or monologues, giving notes and guidance along the way. The final night of class will be a virtual performance for friends and family, performing their “character reel” live, much in the way auditions for SNL are handled.

After she relocated to Los Angeles, Mary Anthony began studying at Upright Citizens Brigade and Playhouse West. She played Amy in the West Coast Premiere of "Tape" at the Playhouse West theater. She performs weekly on the UCB Harold Improv team, LEROY, and the UCB sketch team, Moongoon. She performed with both teams at the 2020 San Francisco Sketch Fest. She's also performed at Second City, iO, The Del Close Marathon, LA Indie Improv Fest, and Outcast Comedy Festival. Her sketch work is also featured on Whohaha.  Mary has studied at Second City and UCB for over 6 years and has taught improv workshops for Film Independent and UCB.
